Biography
Willett Kempton is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the School of Marine Science and Policy. He is also Associate Director and Founder of the Center for Research in Wind (CReW) at the University of Delaware. Kempton received a B.A. in sociology and anthropology from the University of Virginia in 1972 and a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977. He undertook postdoctoral training in quantitative anthropology and public policy at the University of California at Berkeley. His research interests include offshore wind power, electric vehicles, public environmental beliefs and values, and environmental movements. Among other books, he is the co-author of Environmental Values in American Culture (MIT Press, 1995).
