Andrea Anderson earned an M.A. in anthropology from Binghamton University, focusing on the archaeology of Native American lithic technology in the state of New York. Her current research interests center on Native American and gender issues in the early colonial time period in North America. She uses GIS methods to assess land use activities at archaeological sites, earning a Professional Certificate in GIS from the University of Delaware. 

Before coming to the University of Delaware as the Department of Anthropology's laboratory coordinator, Anderson worked as the site supervisor at the Zwaanendael Museum in Lewes for several years. She also has work experience in the fields of cultural resources management, public education outreach and technical writing. She enjoys dividing her time between assisting students in the lab, fieldwork,and collections research. Anderson is an alumna of the undergraduate anthropology major at the University of Delaware.
