The Peter M. Weil Anthropology Travel Award was created to provide funding support for undergraduate students pursuing a major or minor in the Department of Anthropology, University of Delaware. Eligible research includes field, laboratory, and archival research in any of the four major sub-fields of anthropology (biological anthropology, cultural anthropology, archaeology, or anthropological linguistics).

independent research. This may include research-related activities such
as field work, travel to libraries and labs, travel for research
collaboration or training, attendance at meetings to give papers or to
meet with major researcher(s) in the student’s research area, or similar
Awards are normally for a maximum of up to $300; however, in some circumstances they may exceed that amount.
Applications may be submitted to the Department Chair throughout the calendar year up to the deadline of March 15. Decisions on awards will be announced by April 15.
Applicants for projects requiring funding earlier in the Spring or during the Fall may request to have their proposals considered for early decision (please explain and specify the date by which a decision is needed in such cases).
All projects must have a faculty sponsor from the permanent faculty of the Department of Anthropology, University of Delaware.
