MAAC Student Paper Competitions
Students and recent graduates are invited to submit abstracts for twenty-minute, single-authored papers on any topic related to archaeology in the mid-Atlantic United States. We will have two separate contests: one for undergraduates and one for graduate students. Students are placed within the flow of the conference in appropriately themed sessions or may be part of an organized session, if they have been invited to do so. Papers will be evaluated by a panel of judges, drawn from the MAAC membership, with diverse backgrounds in the field of archaeology. Each participant will have the opportunity to be paired with a mentor with a similar focus in archaeology after the abstract has been accepted.

MAAC Student Poster Award
MAAC encourages students to share their work through the creation of posters as well as presented papers. Awards will be presented to undergraduate and graduate students to recognize excellence in the presentation of archaeological research through a poster. The award is designed to encourage the diss-emination of archaeological research through graphics, text, and discussions with those who view the posters, and to recognize the excellence in the dissemination of knowledge thorough this medium.
